Weekend Recap | Already broke my resolution

Tuesday, January 12, 2016

Is it sad that I already broke one of my New Year's resolutions?  I think so.

The whole " I am going to do a more consistent job at blogging" thing I spoke about on my last post definitely didn't happen last week.  Obviously.  I could pretend that it was because I was busy coming up with great ideas for posts or that I did something extremely fun.  But, I would be lying.

In reality, I was busy working.  Since I work a full-time job during business hours, it is very hard to come home after a day of work to cook, clean, take care of Ryan, workout, and then blog.  Sometimes I do great, while others are a complete dud.  Last week was a dud week.  Shoot, yesterday was a dud day.  Last week and yesterday were filled with meetings after meetings after meetings, so I came home drained and needed to unplug.

What did I do while I was unplugged?  Not too much, although we did take Ryan to his very first birthday party he was invited to and drove down to Myrtle Beach for some outlet shopping fun.

I can't tell you how excited I was for Ryan to receive his very first birthday party invitation.  His buddy Lance was turning two.  We went to the party and it was so darn cute to see Lance and Ryan squealing, running around playing together.  They also had a pinata, which Ryan thought was the coolest.  Although, he didn't understand he could hit it with all of his might.  Once the candy was discovered, it was love at first sight.  He zero'd in on a lollipop that stayed by his side for the rest of the night.

The next day, we drove down to Myrtle to hit the outlets and then grub out at a seafood buffet.  That was the only way I could get Russell to go and help watch Ryan while I shopped.  Food is always a way to a man's heart.

When we got to the buffet there was an hour wait and we were terrified on how Ryan would react.  But, I have to give a major shout out to the restaurant Benjamin's Calabash Seafood Buffet... they had an entire downstairs dedicated to a play area for kids and that hour flew by.

It was honestly the best dinner we have had out with Ryan.  He was just so happy and calmed down at dinner because he got to run all of his energy out of him right before.  Why doesn't every restaurant have this????  Of course we rewarded Ryan for his excellent behavior too.  He is his mother's child.

XOXO,
Sherri
