How far along?: 11 weeks and 6 days

Total weight gain/loss: Still same as last week

Maternity clothes?:  No, but the belly band is working wonders to help with my pre-pregnancy jeans and helping squeeze whatever life they have out of them.

Sleep: Still sleeping hard but up 3-4 times a night to pee L

Best moment of the week: Seeing our little baby move last Thursday J  We got to see little babe, hear the heartbeat, and discovered that our baby likes to stand on its head and kick its little feet as hard as it can.  Once he/she gets bigger and I can start feeling those kicks, I am in some trouble.  We have a VERY active baby on our hands.

Movement: Baby likes to kick! But still too teeny for me to feel….yet.

Food Cravings: Hot Fries.  Can you see the pattern of unhealthy food here?  Granted I eat tons of fruit during the day too, but this little mama has been craving some bad stuff.  Tiss tiss tiss.

Gender: We won’t know until I am 21 weeks due to how my appt’s fall.  (end of Aug.)

Belly Button: Still in.

Stretchmarks?:  Nope.

What I miss: Nothing.  After I got to see little baby move and hear the heartbeat it made our baby more important than wine, soft cheese, acne medicine, or anything else I can’t have.

What I am looking forward to: We have some typical tests to go through coming up so we to see little babe again in less than 2 weeks.

Weekly Wisdom: Baby is the size of a lime and growing so fast.

Milestones: Breaking the news to everyone and hearing the heartbeat for the 1st time.

Excuse my non-matchy matchy "going for a slow jog" clothes.

How far along?: 10 weeks and 6 days

Total weight gain/loss: From the doctor’s office on my visit today I am only up 2 lbs. which I find fantastic that I didn’t let myself get overboard this 1st trimester.  The doc said average is 0-5 lbs 1st trimester and I am right in the middle.  Now going into 2nd and 3rd trimester the goal is 1lb a week.  Here we go….

Maternity clothes?:  Ha!  I tried on some pieces this weekend and I am not quite ready for them but I got 2 belly bands for my birthday last week and they have worked PERFECT with my work pants and skirts so I can unbutton them and no one will know J

Sleep: like a baby.

Best moment of the week: My doctors appt today J  Getting to see and hear the baby and knowing all is well.

Movement: still have about a month or so to go…

Food Cravings: pickles, goldfish, guac.  (you see the salty trend here?)  And I made a mean batch of broccoli cheddar soup that is delish!

Gender: I can’t wait to find out!  Still have until probably early Aug. to wait.

Belly Button: Still in.

Stretchmarks?:  Nope.

What I miss: There were a few times this week I could have used a glass of wine….And now I really miss it.

What I am looking forward to: Finally getting to let the cat out the bag TODAY to everyone about this little blessing I am carrying around!

Weekly Wisdom: Little babe is the size of a prune and is moving around in there…just too little for me to feel quite yet.  Tiny nails are forming on fingers and toes and their peach fuzz is growing on their soft skin.

Milestones: Celebrating my big 2-6 bday with Russell, Eleanor (MIL), and aunt Donna.

teeny weeny belly

How far along?: 9 weeks and 6 days

Total weight gain/loss: Varying between 2-3 lbs.  Not too shabby!

Maternity clothes?:  I have been trying to hold out since I am still in the in-between stage.  Snug in my regular clothes and some of them are already a no-go but not big enough for maternity wear just yet.

Sleep: Still on and off but this week most have been great night’s of rest.

Best moment of the week: Getting consistent deep sleeps and starting to tolerate meat a little more.

Movement: still early.

Food Cravings: dill pickles still J  I asked for them as a side at a BBQ place this past weekend.  I. have. A. serious. Problem.

Gender: My hips and thighs are seeing the most gain so if the old wive’s tale is true then it would be a boy…but I don’t 100% trust that sooo, we will continue to wait and see J

Belly Button: Still in.

Stretchmarks?:  Nope.

What I miss: My skinny jeans….they are not cute anymore L

What I am looking forward to: We get to see our little baby again next week J  I am so excited!

Weekly Wisdom: The baby is the size of a grape J

Milestones: My dad came in town this past weekend and got to catch up with him and share this special time with him. He also came bearing gifts and gave us our first baby blanket, pacifiers, socks, a toy, and cute baby picture frame J

I see a little more "something" now.

How far along?: 8 weeks and 3 days

Total weight gain/loss: I am up 2lbs but it fluctuates too much right now to be sure.

Maternity clothes?:  Continuing to feel “stuffed.”  I still haven’t given in to the Bella Band yet.  I. will. Squeeze. Into. My. Non-preggo. Clothes. For. As. Long. As. Possible.

Sleep: Continuing to be on and off.  Some days are good and most days are not.  Too much waking up to pee and being uncomfortable.

Best moment of the week: Realizing I only have 2 more weeks until I can see the baby again!

Movement: Nope.

Food Cravings: Dill pickles and HOT salsa…no not together.

Gender: I am too wishy washy.  Now I am thinking girl.  HA!  I still have a few months before we find out.

Belly Button: Still in.

Stretchmarks?:  Nope.

What I miss: Not being sick at the sight, taste, smell, and thought of any meat.  That is my MAJOR food aversion for the last 2 weeks.  Chicken- NOPE, Fish- Nope, Beef- Nope…its useless.

What I am looking forward to: Seeing my baby again in 2 weeks and my dad coming into town this weekend!

Weekly Wisdom: I’ve got nothing…I am having major preggo brain lately.

Milestones: Last month of the 1st trimester!  Let’s go!

Exhaustion best describes this picture.  Annd my belly is not as flat as it used to be now.  Really started to tell tiny changes of less bloat more substance during week 8.

How far along?: 7 weeks and 3 days

Total weight gain/loss: I was afraid to look this week.  I feel “wider” and I don’t think I have really put on pounds but I will look next week instead.

Maternity clothes?:  I feel “stuffed” in basically all of my pants.  Bella band is being bought soon, I can literally feel it.

Sleep: On and off L

Best moment of the week: Having Monday off so that I can enjoy a short week… and more rest???

Movement: I wish.

Food Cravings: Chicken and Gnocchi soup from Olive Garden.  And NO ONE WILL TAKE ME!  I begged Russell to take me this weekend.  I. cannot. Wait.

Gender: I still think it’s a boy.  Still way too early though.

Belly Button: Still in.

Stretchmarks?:  Nope.

What I miss: Not being disgusted at the sight, smell, thought, and speech of food.  Having wayyyy too many food aversions.  Oh and everything tastes metallic.  Yuck.

What I am looking forward to: A weekend of rest!  We don’t have any visitors so I am going to be utterly lazy and love it.

Weekly Wisdom: The brain and face are developing rapidly, and nostrils and lenses of the eyes begin to form. Arm buds become paddle-shaped; hands begin to form.  So sweet!

Milestones: Russell celebrated his 28th b-day this week.  Other than that, I didn’t throw up…does that count?

Please excuse post workout mess.  Not too much belly yet but just wayyy more bloated than normal.  Thats what the 1st trimester does to you.

Written Monday, May 20th

How far along?: 6 weeks and 3 days

Total weight gain/loss: Scale said up 1.5 today but since I am so up and down lately I don’t know if it is there to stick.  I do feel like I should be carrying around a sign that says “wide load” because I am seeing some change in my hip/thigh.  I officially can picture my 9mo. Preggo self looking like a waddling oompa loompa.  I won’t be that cute preggo with all baby in front, nope…I can tell now.

Maternity clothes?:  Not yet but I am looking forward to when I can fit in it.  My normal clothes are getting a little more snug and I do not like picking out my outfits in the mornings anymore because its with every piece of clothing.

Sleep: Still the frequent potty breaks but sleeping wonderfully and drooling A LOT.

Best moment of the week: Our first appt!

Movement: Do gas/bloat bubbles still count?

Food Cravings: No more cheesy and now more salty.  Still working hard at eating as healthy as I can right now.

Gender: For some weird reason I think it’s a boy.

Belly Button: Still in.

Stretchmarks?:  Nope.

What I miss: Having a “hard” sweaty work out where I kick my butt.  Can’t afford to do that anymore but can’t wait until I can again post pregnancy.  I still work out 4-5/week but at a much different pace.

What I am looking forward to: We have Russell’s dad coming in this weekend and its our first family visitor since we told our family about the pregnancy.

Weekly Wisdom: The little nugget is the size of a sweet pea!

Milestones: Seeing our little sweat pea’s heart beat and our first baby picture J

Not a real belly, just a litle bloat and a memory to remind myself of what I need to get back to.

How far along?: 5 weeks and 3 days

Total weight gain/loss: Nothing.  Wake up some days and no bloat bulge until the end of the day and other days I start off at Woof.  Nothing moving on the scale either.

Maternity clothes?: Nope but that bloat is playing a number on my jeans.

Sleep: Up at least three times a night to pee but still sleeping hard.  And I want to sleep all day every day.  This fatigue is making me loopy.

Best moment of the week: My BFF Lauren sent me a sweet present in the mail.  “What to Expect when you’re Expecting.” And having Russell’s BFF Joe visit and getting to share the news with him.

Movement: Do the gas bubbles count??

Food Cravings: I am hungry all the time!  Right now I want anything spicy and cheese!

Gender: You have to wait while I wait.

Belly Button: Innie and I hope it stays that way all 9 months.

Stretchmarks?: Nah, I have been drowning my body in lotion for an early start.

What I miss: The glass of wine I love to have at some meals.  And the hotter it gets outside, the more I want a margarita.  It will just have to wait!

What I am looking forward to: Our first appointment is next week!

Weekly Wisdom: Baby is the size of an appleseed.  The little nugget is doubling in size each week J

Milestones: Being able to give our mothers and grandmothers the best Mother’s Day ever J

(Catch Up) Survey Says: 4wk Preggers

At 4 weeks pregnant (Cinco de Mayo) I got the most amazing/precious news one could receive...I have a little baby in my tummy!  At this week, I began filling out weekly surveys on thoughts, feelings, etc.  It all starts below!

Total weight gain/loss: Nothing.  But I swear I am bloated like I am already 4 months. Woof.

Maternity clothes?: Nope.

Sleep: Like a baby.

Best moment of the week: Testing twice on Monday to confirm LOUD AND CLEAR that there is a baby Schwartz brewing.

Movement: Nope unless gas bubbles count. (TMI I know, but as bloated as I have been…)

Food Cravings: Some days I have an appetite and others nothing appeals to me.

Gender: Tooo early.

Belly Button: Innie and I hope it stays that way all 9 months.

Stretchmarks?: Nope and I have loaded up on the coca butter.  Never too early to start right?

What I miss: My large cup of 100% caffeinated Joe.  I switched to half and half as soon as I found out I was preggers.

What I am looking forward to: Telling more people. I am not a great secret keeper.

Weekly Wisdom: Baby is the size of a poppyseed.  I am finding everything SO intriguing!

Milestones:  Sharing that “special” moment with Russell where we realized this is really happening.  Constant cramps and feeling like I have a stretched muscle in my lower ab region.  Queasy stomach for the last 4 days and it is not showing signs it will let up…helloooo First Trimester.

We have a breaking news annoucement ....

Friday, June 21, 2013

We have an important family annoucement to make !!!
He is still adjusting to the news
That is right folks!  It has been burning inside of me to be able to finally tell you all the good news.  Hence why I have been pretty vague and infrequent with my posts as that is all I have wanted to share and I had to wait 11 weeks to do so.  I am 11 weeks TODAY and finally wrapping up our 1st trimester.  Baby Schwartz is fantastic with a rapid heartbeat and has already decided early on his/her goal is to be a gymnast.  Baby Schwartz's favorite position in my belly is standing on its head and kicking its little feet like CRAZY.  Too little for me to feel yet but I am in some serious trouble in the coming weeks.
You are seriously going to kick my ribs when you get bigger

As for me, I am feeling much better than I did but these hormones have me breaking out like a little tweeny bopper Justin Bieber fan.  Shew!  Now that the news is out I am dedicating this blog to capturing every moment of this pregnancy for you to see with me.  Just a way to keep our family and friends close although we are so far away :(  I have been keeping up with pregnancy surveys since I was 4 weeks (when I found out) and the next few posts will be my catch-up's from those weeks.

Every Thursday (the last day of my pregger week) I will post how I have been doing each week with of course...some bump or not so bump yet pics!  Bump pictures won't start showing up until my 6 week post.  Don't get too excited, not much there just yet!

Stay tuned for weeks 4-10 that I will be posting tonight and tomorrow :)

XOXOX, Sherri

I'm a big kid now

Wednesday, June 19, 2013

The last 2 weekends have continued to be the typical crazy in the Schwartz household.  The last of our visitors came into town both weekends and then I celebrated my big 2-6.  Dad Edwards came into town 2 weeks ago and I was so excited to see him since it had been over 6 months since getting together.  The weekend was great.  We went to Graceland, went on Beale Street, the Peabody Hotel, and ate at a great BBQ joint.  It ended up being a perfect weekend and hard to see him off at the airport.

Then last weekend Russell's Mom and aunt Donna came into town and we got to celebrate my birthday.  Since Eleanor (Russell's Mom) knew the area pretty well from her previous visits, she showed Donna around while Russell and I were at work...which was GREAT because I was getting touristy out.

For the big 2-6 birthday we all celebrated at my FAVORITE Thai food restaurant and ate and endless amount of icecream cake which I had to walk off for a long time on the treadmill the very next day as I was watching the Miss USA pageant.  Note to self....always skip the bathing suit portion of the competition if you have just recently indulged in too many sweet treats.

B-day Dinner with my hubby

For the upcoming weekends:  I have nothing.  Russ and I get a little break to catch up on 1 on 1 time, throw in a few hubby/wife dates, and much more sleep.

I do have some great news coming up in the next few weeks so if you want to know it....THEN KEEP CHECKING BACK :)

xoxoxox, Sherri

Doing some serious catching up.

Thursday, June 6, 2013

Hi frans!

Yes, I know...I am so far behind on my posts that it isn't even funny.  But I promise to get back on track.  Since our last chat up here 5/14 I have had numerous visitors, celebrated our 1st anniversary, celebrated Russell's big 28th bday and tried to squeeze in some relaxing time.

After Joe came to visit around 5/11 the next weekend 2 of my closest friends, Heath and Kendall, came to visit and help us celebrate our anniversary!  It was a jammmmmm packed weekend and the Memphis heat was sweltering.  We did manage to do BBQ fest, the Memphis Zoo, and Heath and Kendall took us to Texas de Brazil for the "meat sweats" for our anniversary.  Check our lovely photos out below!  All four of us got a reality check on just how hot Memphis can get and we are in for a looong summer.  I didn't think the humidity could get worse than VA Beach and boy was I wrong.  It is a waste of time for a woman to try to look cute in this summer weather here because T-Minus 3 seconds after you leave your house your makeup melts off, you get the nastiest sweat going on in uncomfortable places (if you catch my drift), and all you want is to jump in the water (but the heck if I am jumping in the muddy Mississippi!).

This is what the meat sweats look like (above)

After their nice visit Russell's dad popped in for Memorial Day Weekend and then finally last weekend we got a nice break to relax, not clean, and be veggies on the couch.  We looooved having so many visitors in May but a girl's gotta have a weekend to lay on the couch and do absolutely nothing once and a while :)

This weekend we are back to a few weekends of visitors.  My dad comes into town tomorrow for a weekend trip and it is his first visit so we are excited to catch up and spend some quality time with dad.  Then, the next weekend (MY BURFDAY) Russell's mom and aunt come into town to celebrate with us.

Until next week!
XOXO, Sherri
