Thinking Out Loud | The Most Random Thoughts of the Week

Thursday, June 11, 2015

First, I want to give a shout out to Amanda @ RunningwithSpoons for the link up.

Its #thinkingoutloud Thursday!

I have had a bit of writers block the last few days.  It helped that my son got his head stuck in a cabinet Tuesday night, so that I could share that with you Wednesday.  (You didn’t read it?  You can here.)  But, he didn’t do anything crazy last night, so again, back to the writer’s block.  Shucks.

So, I am going to grace you with all of the random thoughts that popped into my head this week:

I have not a clue what to get my husband for Father’s Day.

I have been pondering this long and hard…  I want to do something very nice, because he went above and beyond for Mother’s Day.  I feel the competitive bone in my body getting all excited….  It shouldn’t be a competition but he set the bar high.  He could care less honestly, but I do.  We are going to a Notre Dame game in October and I thought about getting tickets for a stadium tour and then found out the tour was free.  Hmmm, I may have pondered at how great and cheap of a gift that would be, haha.  But, now I am back to the drawing board.

After the amount of accidents/ear infections Ryan has had,

I briefly thought about the “Vanishing Deductible” offer Nationwide has and realized that I would never be able to benefit from that if they had a vanishing deductible offer for health insurance.  Wouldn’t that be nice though? The longer you go without an accident or doctor’s visit, your deductible vanishes….we wouldn’t make it a week.

There is absolutely no easy way to give a child medicine.

To Ryan, it is pure torture.  I have tried the “want some candy, it tastes goooood?” approach, the sneak up and shoot it down their mouth with a syringe method, and the “you’ll get a cookie after” method and it is all a no-go.  If it does manage to get in his mouth, he holds it there for a second before spitting it all over me.  Now, my child is terrified of me and goes and runs in the corner even when I go to him for anything else.  He went from momma’s boy to now thinking I am out to get him.  Epic fail.

Is it bad that I am already throwing ideas around for Ryan’s 2nd birthday???

WHICH ISN’T UNTIL DEC.23RD?  I guess that shows just how Type A I am.  It’s not like it is going to be a monster of a huge event, it will be very (and I mean very) small party.  But you would like from my Pinterest account, I am throwing a Sweet 16.

Oh, and the above also goes for Ryan’s Christmas presents…

Yep, an idea list is already pinned down on paper.  I need an intervention.

I have taken absolutely zero pictures this week, except for my above "list."  I know, I'm awful!  Promise to do better... Scouts honor!

XOXOX,
Sherri
