My mother-in-law, Ryan's Grandmom was in town visiting this weekend and we finally had a weekend with no rain at all so we were outside all weekend having some good 'ole family fun! Ryan was living it up with the extra attention and I was basking in the fact that my MIL cooked a lot of our food so I got to relax a little with a glass of wine in hand. It's the little things in life...
I am just going to throw it all at you today in picture form!
Friday: Grandmom came in Thursday afternoon so Ryan played hooky at daycare on Friday and spent the entire day being a terror and cute at the same time. Grandmom also had dinner ready for Russell and I when we got home. I can't tell you how wonderful it was to just come home and immediately get to relax (with wine) and not have to cook. Score!
He is thinking of something really mischievous right here. |
Getting in to trouble...and he knows it. |
Life lessons from Grandmom. |
Buddy was exhausted because Ryan wouldn't leave him alone....poor thing. |
Saturday: On Saturday, I skipped out that morning to get my hair done and enjoyed every part of my shampoo/head massage. That is hands-down, my favorite part. Then, after lunch and Ryan's nap, we hit the town and went to Collierville's Fair on the Square. There were TONS of vendors outside, a petting zoo, music, and ice cream. We stayed for a good while and Ryan just loved people watching. Oh, and every time he saw a dog, he squealed and screamed "Bubba."
Being super cute when he woke up! |

The Schwartz ladies. |
After the fair, we made a beeline for Chipotle for some grub. Ryan devoured his food! He ate all of his cheese quesadilla, black beans, brown rice, halo, and milk! He cried when he finished it all and there was no more! He definitely takes after his momma and daddy's OBSESSION with Chipotle! Grandmom and I capped the night off watching a Lifetime movie (with some wine of course) while Russell went to the gym. It was nice to have a ladies night and catch up.
Chipotle is good for the soul. |
Start of the freak out when he realized he ate it all. |
Sunday: Sunday morning, we went to church and then all took a glorious nap after lunch. When we woke and gathered our bearings, we went to the park for our Sunday ritual with Ryan.
Too much fun! |
After the park, we made a DELICIOUS Lobster/Veggie Pasta (with wine...duh!) and relaxed for the rest of the evening.I will be sharing the recipe on Wednesday. Comedy Central was on a role last night because Joe Dirt was on, followed by Step Brothers...I couldn't have asked for a better lineup than that. We all camped out on the couch and laughed our booties off. Yes!
Delicious dinner! Annnnnd wine. |
And then, just like that, I had to but the wine glass down, get to sleep, and say goodbyes this morning to Grandmom! (Sad face.)
XOXO,
Sherri
